Red Lion, a long-time manufacturer of industrial controls that now include controllers, graphic terminals, panelboard displays, ruggedized RTU units, and networking devices announced yesterday that their RAM series of RTUs now supports the Sparkplug IIoT protocol.
This support allows these control units to connect easily to MQTT brokers running on the Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA platform. Sparkplug allows new devices to self-configure tags in the SCADA system- field devices can be added to the SCADA platform automatically.
